Every language is a doorway into computational thinking

Who we are
Circuit Kids is a legacy project for underprivileged South African children. A child's language or background should never be a barrier to digital skills. So the core programme stays the same everywhere, and the story layer changes to fit each school and community.
The programme
A STEAM pathway from Grade R to Grade 7. Art and design sit next to science, technology, engineering and maths, not behind them.
Our curriculum is mapped to the DBE Coding and Robotics CAPS competencies for Grades R to 7.
How we teach
- Offline-first: lessons run without internet, so no school is left out.
- Hands-on: every session is Connect, Learn, Build, Test, Share.
- Light on cost: learner-owned kits and low monthly fees.
- Local stories: books and examples that reflect the places children live in.
The Township edition book
A beginner micro:bit book with 20 projects, set in the streets and stories of the township. The same projects are being re-told for rural and Christian communities. The Township edition is a pilot and workshop edition.
Schools, parents and partners
We work with schools that want to offer coding and robotics, with parents who want it for their children, and with funders and partners who want to help more learners reach it. Launching January 2027.
